今天后殖民批评家对于国民性话语的批评,在价值和目标上是民族主义取向的,甚至可以说,是以国族标准取代了是非标准和价值标准。这与国民性批判的普遍主义价值取向(比如民主、自由)截然不同:思考者从普遍的价值主体变成了偏狭的利益主体;是非善恶的判断被民族身份的分辨(“非我族类,其心必异”、“家丑不可外扬”)所取代。我们应警惕中国文学研究中的这种民族主义倾向。
