(接上期)在“水”卫星上的6台遥感器中有5台是大气探测器,惟独中分辨率成像光谱仪是一台多功能遥感器,可用于大气、海洋和陆地观测。它既能对目标成像,又可以测量其光谱特性,但波段不连续。其地面分辨率有250米、500米、1000米三档,仪器绝对辐射精度5%,在地面分辨率为1000米时,信噪比≥500,地面覆盖周期2天。根据“地球观测系统”计划,在“土”和“水”卫星以及后继卫星上都有中分辨率成像光谱仪,以便对全球大气、海洋、陆地进行长周期(15~20年)的观测。
