元散曲中的云意象具有符合时代特征的新内涵。其中“闲枕白云卧”意象表现了一种彻底的隐逸情怀;“懒云窝”意象象征着自由自在的精神庇护所;“风云”意象被消解了作为君臣相得象征的积极精神,具有了虚无的悲观消极色彩;而“云雨”意象对“云雨”固定具有男女交媾之意起了推动作用。元散曲中云意象这些新特点,来自于作者对生活的认识,他们看似识破天机,通过“避世”来获取精神的安宁。却又潜藏不平,借“玩世”精神故意用一种直白浅露甚至庸俗来消解传统,从而在散曲中通过云意象的创造实现了对自己心灵的一丝安慰。
