由中国索引学会、人民日报和解放军报联合举办的“全国新闻数据库与报纸索引技术研讨会”于1998年10月20日至25日在黄山市举行。出席会议的有各地报社、电台、电视台以及图书情报和科研单位等代表近70人。鉴于报纸文献是一种极为丰富而尚未被充分开发的信息源,如何通过数据库建设和报纸索引编纂,及时满足读者用户检索需要,这是一项亟待研究解 The “National News Database and Newspaper Indexing Technology Symposium” co-sponsored by China Indexing Society, People’s Daily and the Liberation Army Daily was held in Huangshan City from October 20 to 25, 1998. Nearly 70 representatives of newspapers, radio and television stations, library and information science and research institutes attended the conference. In view of the fact that newspaper literature is an extremely rich and not yet fully developed source of information, how to timely meet the needs of readers’ retrieval through database construction and newspaper index compilation is an urgent need for research solution
