首钢高炉原来的单环风口平均寿命只有一个月左右,在全国高炉中偏低。该公司于1982年6月开始研制成功整铸多环风口。同年8月投入2号高炉使用取得明显效果。10月份2号高炉计划检修,将22个风口全部更换为整铸多环风口,通过半年多的生产实践证明,这科风口寿命较原单环式提高了五倍。该风口属旋流式风口的一种型式,它具有旋流式风口热流强度大、冷却水流速高的基本特点,故能有效防止风口局部沸腾产生
