美国东部时间6月26日下午,纽约曼哈顿喜来登酒店,来自全球的众多记者正在等待着沃伦·巴菲特解释他的巨额捐赠计划:巴菲特准备将370亿美元的资产分批捐给由梅琳达和她丈夫比尔·盖茨共同掌管的基金会。梅琳达比预定时间晚了5分钟出现在记者面前,坐在她左边的是她的先生、当今世界第一大富豪,右边的是今天记者会的主角、世界第二大富豪,二者的财富都将近1000亿美元。
