抗战爆发后,为了使湖南的交通与大后方连接,国民政府和湖南省政府大力开发水陆交通线,修筑了湘桂铁路湘段、衡宝公路和洞榆公路,并对原有公路进行改造。但由于日军不断进攻,湖南的陆路交通线常遭破坏。同时,政府统制水运,大力发展内河航运和水陆联运业务;近代走向衰落的驿运事业也发展起来。战时湖南的交通便利了后方大量物资的流通和人员流动,支撑了中国抗战;促进了全省经济和城市发展,加快了湖南社会的演进。
After the outbreak of the war of resistance against Japan, in order to connect Hunan with the rear area, the National Government and the Hunan Provincial Government made great efforts to develop water and land transportation lines, and built Hunan Xiang-Gui Railway Xiang Section, Hengbao Highway and Dongyu Highway and renovated the existing roads. However, due to the continuous attack by the Japanese troops, land transport lines in Hunan are often destroyed. In the meantime, the government dominates water transport and vigorously develops its inland waterway transport and land and sea transport operations. The post-modern transport and post-mortem business has also developed in the recent downturn. The traffic in Hunan in wartime facilitated the circulation and personnel flow of a large amount of materials in the rear and supported China’s war of resistance against Japan. It promoted the province’s economic and urban development and accelerated the evolution of Hunan’s society.
