在长安汽车科技体验馆入口最显眼的地方,静静地停放着一辆军绿色老式吉普车。岁月的沧桑难掩其光辉的历史,它就是上世纪五十年代由长安人自己生产的中国第一辆吉普车——“长江牌”吉普车。曾有一位外国友人到长安汽车参观,见车兴叹,准备出资50万美金购买,但公司婉言谢绝。正是这辆车,揭开了长安与汽车的不解之缘,开启了一段艰难而辉煌的产业传奇。长安驶出的“中国第一”1957年,重庆军工厂要求试制国内第一辆军用吉普车。当时,这种产品国内从来没有生产过,工厂也没有这方面的技术经验,但长安人明白什么叫“军令如山”。
