袁敞先生,一九二五年出生于浙江上欵县,一九五四年进中央戏剧学院华东分院舞美系本科班学习,毕业后长期从事艺术教育工作和美术设计。一九五八年后在福建艺术学院、福建师范大学美术系任教。一九七四年调上海自然博物馆任美术设计兼美工部负责人。现为国家高级工艺美术师,中国博物馆协会会员、上海美术家协会会员、上海水彩画研究会会员。袁敞先生在闽十余年,培养了大批学生,对福建艺术教育做出重大贡献,是福建水粉画的主要传播者之一。他在探索水彩与水粉结合的创作中走出一条新路,强烈对比中包涵着抒情,潇洒用笔里渗透着严谨,既有水彩的透明轻快,又有水粉的丰富浑厚。其作品经常在各种报刊上发表,并参加国内外各类画展,多次获奖。作品流传很广,影响甚大,为美术界所推崇。 Mr. Yuan was born in Shangjian County, Zhejiang Province in 1925 and studied undergraduate courses at the Department of Dance and American Studies, East China Branch of Central Academy of Drama in 1954. After graduation, he has long been engaged in arts education and art design. After 1958 in Fujian Art Institute, Fujian Normal University Art Department. In 1974 transferred to the Shanghai Museum of Natural History Art Design and the head of the Ministry of Industry and. In the more than ten years in Fujian, Mr. Yuan opened up a large number of students and made significant contributions to art education in Fujian Province. He is one of the main communicators of Fujian gouache painting.
