Since the 1960s, a group of important African-American writers have continuously come out with the text of new slave narration and become a beautiful landscape of contemporary American literature. The new slave narrative revisits themes of African American literature on the reproduction of black subjects, black slaves and black culture. The new slave narration also shows the “error of the times” and “time travel” Parody and intertextuality echoes the innovative techniques of postmodernism. The combing and discussion of the background, connotation, textual features and controversial issues of this genre should be enlighteningly instructive for the contemporary classics, research and teaching of African American literature.
