1.IntroductionrnDespite pioneering contributions previously reported,[1]the identification of[Ir(μ-X)(cod)]2/dtbpy(X = Cl,OMe,dtbpy =4,4'-di-terf-butylbipyridine)catalytic system still represented a milestone in transition metal-catalyzed C(sp2)-H borylation,[21 because the work not only revealed a mild and highly efficient catalyst that was prepared from air-stable iridium(l)precursors and readily available 2,2'-bipyridine,but also conformed a tris-boryl 16-electron catalytically active species by single crystal X-ray diffraction(Scheme 1).
