The average processing time for medical litigation is as long as three years, while the average prosecution fee paid to lawyers in Japan is 22,000 yen. Because it is difficult for patients to seek a just solution to medical errors and accidents by using the litigation system, Kazama Maeda’s medical system teaching and research group, Maeda Masoneichi, and the Internal Medicine Coryotes described the difficulties in handling medical disputes from the perspective of medical practice.
