By studying the inscriptions and combining with the literature, we can redetermine the founding age of the Taizhou sub-city in the South Tang Dynasty and clarify its specific location in Taizhou City. The inscription also helps to further explore the reasons and time when Hailing County was upgraded to Taizhou and the historical issues such as when Li Li changed his nationality from “Qi ” to “Tang”.
