新世纪曙光初露之际 ,中国大学图书馆事业面临着新的机遇与挑战。“211工程”提出要在21世纪建立一批世界一流大学。一流的大学离不开一流的图书馆 ,我们离世界一流大学图书馆究竟有多远 ?我们的差距在哪里 ?我们如何迎头赶上 ?带着这些问题 ,我们对国内进入“211工程”的几所重点大学图书馆的馆长进行了网络访谈。这些馆长都有在国外大学图书馆亲历亲闻的经验 ,对中外大学图书馆的差距有切身的感受 ,由于所处的岗位 ,这些问题时常在他们脑际萦回。把他们的见闻和感受发表出来本身就是一件有意义的事情。同时我们相信这样的讨论也有助于我们更清楚地认识自己所处的位置 ,加强紧迫感 ,加快建设一流大学图书馆的步伐。从本期起 ,本刊将陆续分几部分发表访谈记录。一些馆长以专题论文形式发表他们的看法 ,为完整地反映他们的意见起见 ,我们只略作删改 ,原样发表
At the dawn of the new century, China’s university library is facing new opportunities and challenges. “211 Project” proposed to establish a batch of world-class universities in the 21st century. First-class universities are inseparable from the first-class library, how far we are from the world-class university library? Where are our gaps? How do we catch up? With these questions, we focus on the “211 Project” in China The curator of the university library conducted a web interview. These curators all have the experience of being experienced in foreign university libraries and have personal feelings about the gap between Chinese and foreign university libraries. Due to their positions, these problems often linger on their minds. Publishing their insights and feelings is a meaningful thing in itself. At the same time, we believe such discussions will also help us understand our own place more clearly, step up our sense of urgency and speed up the pace of building a first-class university library. From this issue onwards, we will publish interviews in several sections one after another. Some curators publish their views in the form of monographs. For the sake of complete reflection of their opinions, we only made a brief revision and released them as they are
