韦尔蒂被称为“南方文艺复兴”时期的后起之秀,她生动地刻画了美国南方的特殊历史和思想传统,同时也表现了资本主义文明带给现代南方人的精神痛苦。西方学界从20世纪60年代以来,出现了众多关于韦尔蒂的研究,这些研究多偏重于作品的现实主义或南方特征。而对于其小说高超的叙事技巧,国内外研究尚少。本文以小说集《绿色帷幕》为例,从时间、视角和叙事信息的控制三方面来分析小说的叙事结构以及它们在表达主题上的作用。 Welti, known as a rising star in the “Southern Renaissance,” vividly portrayed the special history and ideological traditions of the South of the United States, as well as showing the spiritual anguish brought by the capitalist civilization to the modern southerners. Since the 1960s, there has been a great deal of research on Weltie in Western scholarship. Most of these researches focus on the realistic or southern features of the works. However, there are still few studies both at home and abroad about the superb narrative techniques of his novels. Taking the novel “Green Curtain” as an example, this article analyzes the narrative structure of novels and their role in the theme of expression from three aspects: time, perspective and control of narrative information.
