China is one of a few countries in the worldthat can produce fumed silica. It was reportedthat in 2009,the global fumed silicacapacity was 306 100 t/a. China’s fumedsilica capacity ranked third in the world in2009 and will rank second by the end of2010.The fumed silica industry is developingrapidly in China,especially in the past fiveyears,when the capacity and output havegrown at an average annual rate of almost100%. In 2009,China’s roll of fumed silicaproducers has been joined by a dozen companiessuch as Shandong Ruiyang SiliconIndustry Technology Co Ltd (2 000 t/a,putinto production in December 2009),JiangxiBlack Cat Carbon Black Inc Ltd and JiangxiJiajie New Materials Co Ltd,makingChina’s fumed silica capacity grow to 45 China was one of a few countries in the worldthat can produce fumed silica.
