一、概述 等离子弧切割是1955年在美国首先投入工业上应用的,当时采用氩气等离子弧用于切割铝及其合金,以后又开发出氩-氢混合气、氮-氢混合气等离子弧切割法,并推广用于切割不锈钢、铜及其合金等有色金属。它作为氧-乙炔焰气割法难以加工有色金属的一种有效切割手段而获广泛应用。 我国也在1959年就开发出了等离子弧切割技术和设备,并于1960年开始逐步在生产上得到应用,而且首先采用廉价的氮气作为工作气体。现在使用大电流等离子弧切割设备已能切割如下厚度的金属:不锈钢≤200mm,铝和铸铁≤150mm,铜及其合金100mm。
