“空间批评”是近三十年来西方学界兴起的重要的批评理论与批评方法,以新的空间概念为前提,是西方社会文化后现代化的产物,是文化地理学吸收了文化研究等后现代理论后形成的一种文学的批评方法,兼收并蓄了第三空间、文化身份认同等后现代文化理论,强调对文学空间的文化解读,关注文学空间与政治文化之间不可分割的关系。《偶遇者》则是在空间的视角下阐释能否通过身份置换实现文化认同。
