The two-day OECD ministerial meeting concluded in Paris on June 27. The communique issued after the meeting said that the 29 member nations of the organization are determined to make efforts to launch a new round of multilateral trade negotiations with the WTO as soon as possible. In the communiqué, the OECD said that it hopes the new round of negotiations can “reflect the needs and aspirations of all WTO members.” The communique said that the 29 ministers attending the meeting have learned a lesson from the failure of the WTO Seattle meeting in November last year.
