艺术是人内心世界的一面镜子,可以说有什么样的心灵就会有与之对应的艺术面貌。从艺术史的发展来看,后印象派是一个分界点,之前的画家们仅限于对自然的简单模仿,往往忽略了个人的主观情感。本文分为三部分,先追根溯源,从原始艺术出发,探求先人们创作艺术的动机;再探索哲学和美学中艺术的奥秘,寻求理论上的支持;最后以后印象派三杰为例,主要简述了三位艺术家的生平、性格特征及其主要的艺术风格,并试图通过他们私密的信件来探寻隐藏在他们内心的精神世界,并探讨他们的内心世界和他们所创造的艺术风格的关系,以此来论证艺术是心灵的镜子。
