Spanishwoman Carmen La Follet is considered one of the most prominent women writers in the Spanish literary scene of the twentieth century. Her novel, “Found nothing”, published in 1944, is also considered a masterpiece of post-war literature in Spain. Through the encounters during the study of her hero Andrea in Barcelona, the novel portrays the fact that post-war Spanish society was deprived of resources and depressed in spirit. This article attempts to derive the critique of social reality that the author behind the food wants to express by analyzing the relationship between food and character in the novel.
