刘西元(1917-2003),江西吉安人。1931年1月参加中国工农红军,8月加入中国共产主义青年团,1932年5月转入中国共产党。土地革命战争时期,历任红军学校政治部、红一方面军直属队、红三军团第六师青年干事,参加了长征。抗日战争时期,历任八路军第一一五师第六八六团第三营教导员、团政委,鲁南支队政委、教导第二旅第六团政委、滨海军分区政委、山东军区第一师政治部主任。解放战争时期,历任中共通化地委书记兼辽东人民自治军通化支队司令员、政委,通化保安司令部司令员、辽东军区独立第二师师长兼政委、东北野战军第三纵队副政委兼政治部主
Liu Xiyuan (1917-2003), Ji’an people.
