款彩雕刻工艺是在古建文化和漆艺文化的基础上衍生而出的一种特殊的艺术表现形式。款彩雕刻分布较广,其中苏州和扬州两地的款彩更负盛名。近年来,苏州款彩雕刻艺术先后参与了国内诸多大型重点工程中的装饰项目。在乾隆时期,御用雕漆、脱胎漆、部分填漆以及少量彩漆、仿洋漆器的制作任务都是在苏州完成的,乾隆三十年以后,部分雕漆器和填漆器的修补工作也是由苏州织造完成的。这些在《清宫内务府造办处档案总汇》中有明确的相关记载。因此,研究和描述苏州款彩雕刻工艺,就应该了解它存在的背景,故从苏州的社会情状,宫廷的需求以及漆艺传统三个方面介绍。
