辣椒落叶是辣椒减产的主要原因之一，过去未见有系统研究的报道，经过六年的调查与研究，初步摸清引起辣椒落叶的原因：主要是病害影响，其次是水肥管理不当所致。引起苗期落叶，主要是灰色叶斑病，对产量的影响很大。中后期落叶，主要是病毒病、炭疽病、疮痂病，疫病、白粉病、早疫病等，其中以病毒病，炭疽病最严重。后期落叶，还由于天旱，在烈日下浇水，将会引起急性落叶，对病害也有促进作用。防治方法，主要是及时防病，特别是苗期防病不能忽略。合理浇水施肥，可以防止急性落叶。
