Yemeni Arafat, a young man who smuggled firearms into Palestine in Egypt, had long ago dream of establishing a Palestinian state. Today, however, he has been President of the Palestinian Authority for six years and the establishment of this body is a step towards ultimate independence, but Arafat still failed to turn his dream into reality. For Palestinians, Arafat symbolizes their struggle for homeland; for Israelis, Arafat represents the threat of destroying their homeland.
