Modern frequency response pacemakers monitor the physiological parameters of exercise and increase heart rate accordingly to improve cardiac output and exercise tolerance, so it is important to determine which patients benefit most from this technique. The difficulty is that there is currently no accepted definition of dyskinetic change and little is known about the long-term pacing function of patients with pacing. The authors looked at the incidence of dysfunctional dyskinesia in a relatively healthy group of pacing patients and whether they worsen over time.
