Our country is stepping up its efforts to build a major trunk line of land-sea railway of about 2 200 km in length, connecting the three major economic regions in the northeast, the Bohai Rim and the Yangtze River Delta more closely and swiftly. By then, Shanhaiguan, the “bottleneck” of the railway that has long hindered the exchanges between the northeast and the Yangtze Delta, will no longer exist. The distance from Shanghai to Shenyang will be shortened by more than 400 km, and from Yantai to Shenyang by 1400 km.
