梁启超希望用佛教精神改造国民性,拯救国家,培养个人(小我)为群体(大我)牺牲的精神,增强民族凝聚力,但他并没有强调佛教中“超世间”的部分。他在《余之死生观》一文中,不仅没有用“业报轮回”、“六道轮回”、“生死轮回”的提法,连“轮回”一词也只用了7次。而中南大学副教授、哲学博士刘立夫的《梁启超对佛教业报轮回说的新阐发——〈余之死生观〉在佛学史上的划时代意义》一文中,“轮回”一词的使用频率竟高达43次,其中以“业报轮回”、“六道轮回”、“生死轮回”等词组加重语气出现的就有30处,明显偏离了原著精神。高校学者对名人原著的误读,会造成对青年一代的误导。
