1994年,11月28日,北京飞机维修工程公司首次D检的波音747—200飞机试飞成功,这是中国民航飞机维修水平的重大飞跃。一架新的民航飞机,在使用一段时间以后,必须进行维护检修。国际上通行的作法是将检修分为A、B、C、D四个等级。A检指对使用一段时间后的新飞机进行目视检查,小拆小修就能完成检修任务;随着飞机飞行时间逐渐增长,根据情况就需作B检、C俭,检修工作通常要依靠工具进行中拆中修才能完成;D检是最高级别的检修,需要大拆大修才能完成。使用时间相当长的民航飞机,必须进行D检才能继续使用。
