本文系统梳理了葛浩文的四重身份:高校教师、中国现当代文学研究学者、翻译、编辑,以及在这4个领域中葛浩文所分别取得的成就。研究发现,葛浩文作为译者所取得的成功与他的其他3个身份密切相关:高校教师这个身份为他提供了物质保障和研究需求;中国现当代文学研究专家这个身份为其翻译选材和理解原文提供了技术支持和知识储备;编辑这个身份服务于他的其他3种身份,满足其教学、研究、发表译文的需求。
This article systematically sorts out Ge Haowen’s four identities: university teachers, Chinese modern and contemporary literary scholars, translators and editors, and achievements made by Ge Hao in these four fields respectively. The study found that Ge Haowen’s success as a translator is closely related to his other three identities: the identity of university teachers provides him with material security and research needs; and the identity of Chinese modern and contemporary literary research experts as his translation choice and understanding The original text provides technical support and a knowledge base; editing this identity serves his other three identities and meets his teaching, research, and translation needs.
