本文以传统乐论中的“乐”概念为中心,阐释中国传统音乐美学的基本精神。本文认为,以中国传统文化的天地境界观念为基础,中国音乐的基本精神是对音乐的推崇与否定相统一的背反原则。这个原则追求的目标是通过有形有限的艺术音乐达到无形无限的自然音乐:天地人浑然一体的生活境界。这是近世中国艺术音乐式微的深层根源。王阳明乐论极深刻地阐释了中国音乐的基本精神,导致了儒家乐论与道家乐论的殊途同归。
This article, based on the concept of “music” in the traditional music theory, explains the basic spirit of Chinese traditional music aesthetics. This article argues that the basic spirit of Chinese music is based on the concept of heaven and earth of Chinese traditional culture as the opposite principle of unifying and reshaping music. The goal pursued by this principle is to reach the limitless natural music through tangible and limited artistic music: the realm of life in which people of the universe and nature are seamless. This is the deep roots of the contemporary Chinese art music style. Wang Yangming’s music very profoundly expounded the basic spirit of Chinese music, which led to the same return of Confucian music theory and Taoist music theory.
