作为一座拥有六百年历史的道教宫观,上海城隍庙上始终秉持道教“齐同慈爱”理念,积极参与社会公益慈善事业。2010年11月15日下午2点半,位于上海市中心胶州路的一座居民楼突发特大火灾。大火持续燃烧了3个多小时,58人不幸遇难,70多人受伤,500多户居民的财产瞬间化为灰烬……面对这一突发的大灾难,上海城隍庙第一时间启动公益慈善机制,以慈爱功德会名义伸出援手,捐款100万元,并通过上海市慈善基金会发放救助善款。上海市慈善基金会的负责人动情地说:“这不仅是一笔钱,也是道教界的大爱之心,我代表受灾居民感谢你们!”此后,城隍庙又举行了
