In recent years, there have been five accidents with collapsed foreign large-span roofs. The structure of these projects and the reasons for their collapse are listed in Table 1. The collapsed large-span structures were all covered with roofs of public buildings, causing serious property losses. Fortunately, there were not a large number of people gathered when the collapse occurred, and there were not many casualties. However, the collapsed accident has caused strong reactions from the foreign public. Some scholars have published this. In the article, the American Institute of Architects also held a public discussion session for this purpose to learn lessons from it. They believe that the large-span structure is different from the general structure and has its own characteristics. To prevent accidents in the future, it is recommended that measures be taken in design, construction, and use, some of which are worth learning from.
