20世纪80年代以来,文学名著的电视剧改编,大有愈演愈烈之势。在各种文体的电视剧改编中,话剧的改编仅次于小说,排名第二。而其中,经典话剧的改编又占有相当大的比重。然而,在众多的经典话剧改编中,改编质量有好有坏,良莠不齐。好的改编,不仅弘扬了文化遗产,普及了文学名著,而且给年轻的电视剧艺术注入了深厚的文化底蕴和无穷的艺术魅力;差的改编则不仅败坏了原著的声誉,而且有误导观众之责。从理论上探讨一些经典话剧改编的成败得失,也许可为方兴未艾的经典话剧改编提供一点借鉴。
