科技强消是一种战略，科技强消是一种目标。 ２００１年，上海消防科技工作将坚持实事求是、注重实效、突出重点、分步实施的原则，大力加强消防科技工作，具体将努力实现六个工作目标： 一、进一步深化、完善消防通信指挥系统，使其适应大城市防火灭火和抢险救援通信调度指挥的需要； 二、全面建成消防办公自动化系统，提高消防行政效率和决策水平； 三、宪成部分消防器材装备的研制和革新工作，提高消防装备的科技含量和实战效能； 四、继续编制地方性消防标准和规范，进一步促进本市消防法制建设； 五、开展城市消防设施远程监控网络系统的试点工作，为建设城市自动消防报警网络系统打下基础； 六、继续开展消防科技知识的培训工作，提高消防官兵应用通信指挥系统和消防办公自动化系统的能力。
