The 3D seismic method is used to obtain information about the configuration of the reflector layer and the associated average velocities. This technique differs from the general seismometry in that it covers the area in an isolated arrangement instead of covering it with continuity. The spacing of these arrangements must be suitable for determining meaningful structural anomalies. An example of an oil field illustrates methods including digital processing and interpretation. The processing and interpretation of these data make use of statistical techniques to simultaneously estimate the inclination and inclination of meaningful reflection surfaces and the corresponding average velocity data. Also included is a method of automatically locating and estimating the tectonic shape to obtain the tectonic map of the covered area.
