今天,我们在改革、开放取得了丰硕成果。在进行反对资产阶级自由化、反对民族虚无主义和历史虚无主义,宣传爱国主义精神、弘扬民族优秀文化的时候,隆重纪念周信芳同志诞辰95周年,具有特殊的意义。周信芳的爱国主义精神和艺术革新的精神值得我们认真学习;他留下的珍贵的艺术遗产,需要我们努力继承和发扬。可以这样说,继承和发扬麒派艺术,是戏剧界发扬爱国主义精神和弘扬民族优秀文化传统的重要任务之一。周信芳是一位伟大的爱国主义者和艺术革新家。他在青少年时代就受到辛亥革命、“五·四”运动和第一次国内革命战争等反帝反封建的革命浪潮的思想影响。1927年大革命失败后,他目赌国民党独裁统治的腐败黑暗,思想开始转变,参加了中国共产党领导的革命文化活动;1931年“九·一八”事变发生之后,他高举爱国主义大旗,始终以戏剧为武器,进行抗日救亡宣传。这一时期,他借古喻今,编演了《文天祥》、
