沪麦5号以矮早为母本,万雅2号为父本,利用品种间杂交基因重组原理,并经人工多代单株选择、产量比较选育而成。全生育期195天左右,适用于稻麦二熟和棉麦间作。沪麦5号是在上海地区小麦生育期间雨水多,赤霉病发生频繁,后期常常出现高温逼熟的条件下育成。故在丰产性、耐湿性、抗病性(抗白粉病、赤霉病)等方面均优于外来品种。主要表现在:(1) 丰产性好。经1982—1986年5年48点次试验,结果平均亩产268.6公斤,最高亩产达350公斤以上,较CK_1扬麦3号增产11.3%。1985—1986年二年36点次
