生活在春秋晚期的孔子,在特定的情景下,难免遇到两难之事。孔子的处置办法,当时就受到人们包括弟子置疑。比如,欲应叛臣公山弗扰、佛肝召,见卫灵公夫人南子,拒颜路请车以为颜渊椁等三事。在孔子圣洁的一生中,这类事件的发生,确实是美玉小疵。若是发生在庸常人身上,实不足挂齿,更不会有思想史上的意义;而偏偏发生在孔子这个当世大儒、后世圣人、万世师表身上,人们就不愿轻易放过,于是生出许多的分说,或为之辩白、或为之深讳、或为之剖判、或为之曲解……其结果,孔子依然是春秋晚期那个孔子,而圣人却随之委蛇多变。因而,在后世的阐释中,孔圣经历了多次变形,君子也好,仁人也好,圣人也
