梳理新中国摄影事业的历史,当会发现几个重要的时间节点,而这些节点似乎都是同石少华的名字联系在一起。1952年新闻摄影局并入新华社,成立新闻摄影部,石少华被任命为新华社党组成员、摄影部主任;1959年他担任新华社副社长以后,仍长期兼任摄影部主任的职务。1956年中国摄影学会成立,石少华当选为第一届主席,1960年当选第二届主席;中国摄影学会后来更名为中国摄影家协会,他又于1985年再度当选第四届主席。
To sort out the history of the new photographic career in China will find several important time nodes that seem to be linked with Shi Shaohua’s name. In 1952, the Information and Photography Bureau merged with Xinhua News Agency to establish a news photography department. Shi Shaohua was appointed as a member of the party group and the director of photography department of Xinhua News Agency. In 1959, after serving as the vice president of Xinhua News Agency, he remained as director of the photography department for a long time. In 1956, the China Photographic Society was established. Shi Shaohua was elected as the first president and was elected as the second chairman in 1960. The China Photographic Society was later renamed the China Photographers Association. In 1985, he was re-elected as the fourth president.
