电子计算机技术是我们时代的标志。计算机正对我们的社会产生着日益巨大的影响,并迅速改变着我们的生活方式。而计算机技术与艺术的联姻则给我们拓开了一个奇异的审美世界。随着电子计算机技术的飞速发展,计算机艺术的面貌亦日新月异。在经历了八十年代亦即早期的追求平面性视觉效果的“电脑绘画”阶段之后,九十年代的计算机艺术已经步入到一个集影像、动画和音乐为一体,以软件设计,光盘承载,网络传递和观众参与为创作、传播、接受和欣赏方式的全新时期。今天,作为观众只要你有一台电脑(即网络终端)并注册上网,就能随时探访世界各地的计算机艺术家,进入他们用数字编织的梦幻世界。 笔者第一次参观计算机艺术展是1998年10月在巴黎市立现代艺术博物馆,
