常州,素有“龙城”之称,是一座具有2500多年历史的文化古城。2001年4月27日,常州爆出了一条振奋人心的消息:位于常州新区的“中华恐龙园”开园了。它标志着我国第一家以恐龙为主题的集科普、博物、游乐、休闲、环保于一体的大型综合性乐园正式建成,并以其特有的魅力,光芒四射的风采,成为华东旅游线上一道亮丽的风景。恐龙园位于南京、上海、苏州、无锡的交通线上,可吸引几大城市游客和学生,每天观众达7000—10000人,节假日达3万多人,收到了巨大的经济效益和社会效益。
