A bridge on the E-3 major European highways, being built at the Kohlbrand estuary in Hamburg, West Germany, is Europe’s longest bridge spanning the water. The main bridge is a span suspension bridge of 98 + 325 + 98m box girders. Most of the West Bank Approach Bridge uses a span of 70m post-tensioned prestressed concrete beams, the eastern coast is also prestressed box girder, but the span of 50m.
