Objective To investigate the causes of head-position dystocia complicated by newborn infants and to analyze the hazards of head-dystocia to the newborn’s health. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the data of 50 patients who affected the newborn’s health among the 730 patients who came to the hospital due to head dystocia between June 2008 and July 2011. Results (1) The results of pelvic examination before and after trial production showed significant differences (P <0.01) between the estimated body weight and actual body weight of the fetus; (2) the incidence of active prolongation was the highest in the birth disorders; (3) Complications and poor prognosis. Conclusion The timely diagnosis of head dystocia and mastery of optimal cesarean delivery timing have a positive effect on the newborn’s health.
