To the editor:Abdominal hias are relatively common in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD),with a prevalence of 4%-14%.1,2 Failure to detect an occult contralateral hia (OCH) may lead to the requirement of a second surgery repair and severe complications, such as dialysis inadequacy and strangulation of the hiated loop of intestine. Here we report a case on CAPD whose bilateral inguinal hia was missed by routine examinations, but later correctly diagnosed by CT peritoneography (CTP).
