OBJECTIVE: To investigate and analyze the blood pressure level and the distribution of common cardiovascular risk factors in elderly patients with essential hypertension. Methods: From January 2007 to June 2009, blood pressure was measured in 323 hospital outpatients aged over 65 years old to investigate the risk factors of common cardiovascular diseases. The levels of blood pressure, the exposure rate of risk factors and Concurrent with a variety of risk factors. Results: Among the 1002 elderly hypertensive patients who met the inclusion criteria and completed the survey, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels were (149 ± 20) mmHg and (82 ± 11) mmHg, respectively. The diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher in men than in women Diastolic blood pressure was significantly higher in the 69-year-old group than in the older group (P <0.01). Elderly patients with hypertension and heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obesity and other risk factors exposure rates were 39.8%, 16.2%, 36.8% and 10.3%. The exposure rate of female hyperlipidemia was significantly higher than that of male (P <0.05). The male’s alcohol consumption and smoking rate were significantly higher than those of female (P <0.01). At the same time complicated by heart disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and other 2 or more men 20.1%, 26.8% of women; women with concurrent heart disease and hyperlipidemia were significantly higher than men. Conclusion: The control of diastolic blood pressure in elderly patients with hypertension is better than systolic blood pressure, and the risk factors of other cardiovascular diseases are quite common. Among the 22.8% patients, there are two or more risk factors.
