1972年2月上旬,时任美国总统尼克松访华的计划正在紧锣密鼓进行当中,这是新中国成立以来第一位美国总统来访,各方都给予了高度重视。2月7日前后,正值我国春节前夕,美军的一艘核潜艇,以通过琼州海峡的一艘商船为掩护,紧贴着商船的尾部,悄悄进入琼州海峡,其意图有三:一是进行不法的侦察活动,二是在尼克松访华之前试探我军对美军的态度,三是制造事端挑起冲突,进而破坏尼克松的访华计划。
In early February 1972, when he immediately planned to visit U.S. President Nixon was in full swing, this is the first U.S. president to visit since the founding of new China, and all parties attach great importance to it. Before and after February 7, just before the Spring Festival of China, a U.S. nuclear submarine was secretly entering the Qiongzhou Strait in close contact with the tail of a merchant ship through a merchant shipping passing through the Qiongzhou Strait. The intention is to: Secondly, to test our military’s attitude towards the U.S. military before Nixon’s visit to China; and thirdly, to create incidents to provoke conflicts and then undermine Nixon’s visit plan.
