当年,人民教育家陶行知给当时川北岸新安小学题词,有两句名言:“捧着一颗心来,不带半根草去。”作为陶行知学生的董纯才,这两句更是他一生的行为准则。董纯才在抗日战争和解放战争时期,先后担任陕甘宁边区师范学校副校长,中共中央宣传部国民教育科副科长,西北局宣传部国民教育科科长,东北人民政府教育部副部长、党组书记。新中国成立后,他曾历任中央教育部党组书记、常务副部长,教育科学研究所所长,全国政协提案审查委员会副主任、教育组组长,中国文字改革委员会委员、临时党组书记,中国科普创作协会理事长等职。董纯才的一生,被人们称为革命教育家的一生。

The life of Dong Chuncai was known as the life of a revolutionary educator.
