Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, is the hometown of Gu Yanwu, a patriotic figure of the Ming Dynasty. His famous saying of “the rise and fall of the world, every man has the responsibility” encouraged the people in Kunshan today to struggle endlessly. Twists and turns of the river, dotted with the lake, hundreds of bridges, outlined as the charming map of the South China Water Village. Years ago, a painting entitled “Memories of Hometown” by Mr. Chen Yifei, a traveling artist in the United States, pushed Zhouzhuang, a thousand-year-old town in Kunshan, to the world. So tourists, business investors flocked to make Kunshan become China’s earliest implementation of one of the regions opening up.
