在当代中国山水画家中,以“水”为主攻题材的画家不算多,保持传统又具现代性的作品更是寥若晨星。然而,性格娴静的女画家王学龄,却憧憬于水景的营造,她植根传统,师法自然,融合西法,立足鼎革,经过二十多年不懈努力,终于创作出了一批“形理兼备”、“尽水之变”、气势磅礴、风格新颖的水图,逐渐受到世人瞩目。 王学龄在刻苦学习传统山水画尤其是画水技法基础上,认真分析了古往今来画水法之各自特色、进而取长补短,兼集众美,逐渐开拓出自己的表现领域。她在《画水源流与技法》专论中,系统梳理了画水之历史沿革,全面论述了画水之立意、章法、形象、技法,这既是对历史的回顾总结,也是自身体验的闸发。
